"I believe that my husband's Whetstone/Wetzstein family
is connected with this family through Isaac Wetzstein who married Anna Maira Maag, d/o Jacob &
Barbara Maag of PHL. Jacob & Barbara were sponsors for
two of Isaac & Anna Maria's children as well as sponsors for Jacob Maag,
s/o Jacob & Maria Peltz, and a child of Conrad Maag. Jacob Maag Sr. will left this estate devided between Jacob,
s/o Isaac Wetstein, and two children of Conrad Maag. This ties these families together. The First Reformed Church in PHL is where I found these
baptismal records. Jacob Maag's
will was filed under Mock, but he signed it Maag. One of Conrad's children had sponsors Henrich Maag, and
Barbara Maag, brother & Sister of Conrad, and it mentioned that they were
from Zurich.
It appears that Isaac
Wetzstein married Anna Maria Maag ca1770 and they then had about 7 children,
bapt. Records for some found in First Reformed
